Ying & Yang

Ying & Yang

Once upon a time there was,
A thought of Ying who was because,
Enjoying all there ever is,
It seemed so Blessed to be in Is,

The place was not a place like here,
The "Is" is just to Be so Near,
The spot where All began and Is,
The Heart of Love is where this is.

The Ying knew everything there was,
For it was well connected, Love
And All was part of it as well,
And Love was it's sweet spot to tell.

But there was no one else to tell,
How it was wonderfully well,
So it decided to divide,
to change the Changeless Is inside;

To change to something else, what Is
required magic thoughts of wiz,
a slight of hand, a puff of smoke,
to change the All into a joke !

But then the Ying forgot to laugh,
It saw itself a blade of grass,
In fear it ran to find some place,
It thought it was Loves Great Disgrace !

It looked for Love, but could not find
It now was separate in kind,
And felt so small, from All there Is,
An empty thought of guilt now lives,

Like from the Guard of Eden "Out !"
A flaming sword to keep without,
The memory of its Wholeness hides,
And IT was now it's thought to guide.

IT changed it's name to Yang,
A melody of joy it sang,
And Yang was free from All that was,
To be as it wished itself "because"

Alas the Yang was not content,
It sought for refuge from what this meant:
That All would grab it when it slept,
And it would cease it's life and wept.

So Yang created time and space,
A universe where it could race,
To hide from it's own sin of loss,
And carry round a load, a cross;

Then bodies and all things we see,
The sounds of all like harmony,
We see and hear, we touch to feel,
To prove to Yang that he is here.

Divided up in each of us,
The Yang of Love, is lost enough
To keep his sin of guilt away,
From his own mind, this very day.

Yang yet in truth, did not a thing,
Except forget it's name The Ying,
And it forgot the joke it played,
Imagining a world of shade,

And now we simple mortals be,
In part, the Ying and Yang you see,
The Yang is lost and fears he'll croak,
The Ying in us knows it a joke.

ACIM Note

The Course in Miracles does not talk about "Ying and Yang" incase you go looking for a reference.
It does talk about how the Ego was created --the thought: "that we are separate from everything," and the results we experience in this physical life.
"Into eternity, where all is one, there crept a tiny, mad idea, at which the Son of God remembered not to laugh" (T-27.VIII.6:2, pg 586).
